Last meeting: Newcastle United 2, Norwich City 2 (August 25, 2004): The Canaries found themselves 2-0 down after 50 minutes through goals from ex-Canary Craig Bellamy and Aaron Hughes. But the visiting side rose to the challenge and got the result they deserved. Newcastle keeper Shay Given gifted David Bentley his first goal in a Norwich shirt two minutes after Newcastle had scored their second. But there was no luck involved as Norwich stormed back to take a point with Gary Doherty marking his full debut with an equaliser 17 minutes from the end.

Chances: Sir Bobby and the man the Toon Army call `Sir Alan' may still be going strong, but last season was a bitter disappointment both in the league and in Europe. If all of Robson's men stay fit this time, though, Newcastle should challenge the top three again.
