Best League Win: 9-1 v Birmingham City 13/12/1930 Division 1

HillsboroughLast meeting: Sheffield Wednesday 4, Norwich City 1 (May 4, 2008): It was Deon Burton’s two goals which earned Wednesday victory on a day of high drama at the end of the Championship season. But it was the retiring Dion Dublin who stole the show – despite finishing on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline. Darren Huckerby – playing his last game for City – scored after 12 minutes as City knocked the ball around with confidence and authority.
But chances came and went and by half-time it was all square – and then Wednesday’s urgency took over, with three more goals guaranteeing their Championship survival.

Last Norwich away win: 29/12/2001 Sheffield Wednesday 0, Norwich City 5 (Kenton, Nielsen 2, McVeigh, Holt)

Chances: The Owls did well to stay up last season after a worse start than even Norwich City. They battled and scrapped their way to survival against the back drop of even more turmoil in the boardroom. If off the field disputes can be resolved and Laws can have some money to spend they could push up the table. If not, another season in the lower reaches could follow, although the club do have some talented youngsters with the likes of Mark Beevers.
