list) Goals: 3

Former clubs: Celtic, Stoke, Kilmarnock
Can always be relied upon to give 100pc for the cause, but
struggled to make an impact at the very highest level. An
enforced mid-season break after a worrying health scare certainly
didn't help his cause – Holt looked a shadow of his
former self when he came back. Let's hope he comes back firing
on all cylinders after his summer holidays.
Verdict: Holt is a proven performer at Championship
level and will be a good man to have around next season. Whether
he gets a regular start is another matter altogether. It all
depends on whether he can recapture the form of previous seasons.
OFF DUTY (2004):
Marital status: Married, to Lisa.
Children: Luke six, Tom and Ben, six months.
Home: Halvergate.
Current car: BMW
First car: Nissan Micra.
How do you relax away from football: I love
spending time at home with the kids and since the twins arrived
that’s certainly kept me busy. They need a lot of attention!
Like a lot of the lads I enjoy a game of golf while I also
like my cricket. It all goes back to my time in the Army when
I played it a lot. I’m a wicket-keeper (I’d like
to say wicket-keeper/batsman but that would be a little flattering)
and I played for my local village team during the summer.
Favourite other sport to watch: My wife will
tell you I watch any sport I can find – and there’s
plenty of it on the box these days.
Favourite television programme: Question
of Sport.
Favourite holiday destination: Bali. We spent
our honeymoon there and it really was an idyllic setting.
What happened there last year was terrible.
Favourite restaurant/eating place: We don’t
eat out that much but we like Zizzi in Norwich.
Favourite read: I love reading books, especially
crime thrillers. Colin Forbes, Dick Francis and James Patterson
are three of my favourite authors.
Favourite films: Anything by Clint Eastwood
(preferable the cowboy ones).
Recommended listening: I’ll have the
music on in the car, but I’m not really into any one
artiste.
Best thing about living in Norfolk: The weather.
It’s a lot warmer than I’m used to. It’s
also a lovely part of the world.
Worst thing about living in Norfolk: Going
anywhere seems to be long journey. I can’t say I look
forward to the drive back to Scotland. It takes an age.
Who’s is the first result you look out for:
Kilmarnock.
What was the first team you ever played for:
As a youngster, Kilmarnock Portland. My first professional
club was Celtic.
What would you have done for a living if you hadn’t
made the grade: That’s easy. Before I became
a professional I was a chef in the Army and I would have carried
on doing that.
What will you do when your playing career is over:
I honestly don’t know.
