Signed from Reading after four successful years with the Royals,
Hughes came to Carrow Road as a midfielder with an impressive
reputation. But following a difficult first season, the Stockport-born
player found himself solidly back in the first team fold when
Peter Grant switched him to right back earlier this year.
Hughes quickly became a cult favourite with his fearsome tackling
and never-say-die attitude and will be in competition with
new signing Otsemobor to retain this position this season.
Otsemobor’s arrival and the sheer number of midfielders
mean he has a fight on his hands to get in the team. Been
linked with a move to Leeds this summer.
