Darren Huckerby was one of the
few bright spots from last season with the 31-year-old once
again being voted the club's player of the season. Huckerby
endured a tetchy relationship with manager Peter Grant when
the Scot was appointed but the pair appear to have reached
an understanding with the winger producing some of his best
football in a City shirt. Grant deployed Huckerby as a central
striker towards the end of the campaign and it will be interesting
to see where he fits into the Canaries jigsaw next season.
Outspoken, sometimes controversial – but the undoubted
star of the squad. His goals in the second half of the season
spared City from a closer brush with relegation. His pace
still causes defenders major headaches – while Grant
wrestles with the question of where to play him. Doesn’t
do defending.
