Born in Liverpool, right back Otsemobor played six times for
his hometown club before moving to Rotherham in 2005, following
loan spells at Bolton and Hull. A successful season helped
revitalise his career before he switched to Crewe where more
impressive performances caught the eye of Peter Grant. City
swooped to sign Otsemobor, who can also play at centre back
as his contract with the Railwaymen ran out. Strong and with
a good engine, Grant will be hoping the Scouser will become
the club's established right back. The first signing of the
summer, when he became a free agent after refusing to sign
a new contract at Crewe. Right back was another problem area
for the manager, with Jurgen Colin’s failure to venture
much past the halfway line costing him his place. Midfielder
Andy Hughes took over, and did a better job, but Grant is
clearly after a specialist. Pre-season performances suggest
Otsemobor loves to attack.
