From little acorns....

Roeder seems to have been quite ruthless with those he believes cannot contribute to Norwich's future success, hence the departure of the Jarvis's and others. He therefore believes there is something, presumably more than just a positive attitude, in those youth players who are now stepping up this season. I've not seen anything of these, so do we have a potential star in the likes of Renton, Daley, Rudd or Lathrope?  (I am aware of Rudd's international exposure, but we must grow more than goalkeepers)

Is it too early to say?  Will they get a chance this season? ...or they destined to make up the numbers and eventually move away from the club before their potentials are realised, like say Joe Lewis, and other big names (although not products of our academy) that have passed through our hands over the years, e.g. Bellamy, Crouch, Bentley, etc.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition don't like it - you can see it all over their faces"

Read the words...I think you'll see that I acknowledged that!

Re: From little acorns....
Who knows really, I suppose it all depends on Roeder's attitude to the academy, I think I am right in saying he used to be Academy Director at Newcastle? I think they will all be given a chance this season, either at Norwich or out on loan at a club to 'toughen' them up.

Bentley by the way was never ours, although I wish he had been! I hope Roeder's cull of the backroom staff does mean a sea-change, and we see our academy being utilised to it's potential, because it should be seen as an important tool.

Re: From little acorns....
it would be nice if people actually read the post, but yeah... i think some of these may have a chance as Roeders managed to bring through talent in the past at his previous clubs, no reason why he can't do it here.

Kick it Off...

Re: From little acorns....

At newcastle he brought through ramage, huntington, pattison as well as a few others at Newcastle... ok most if not all have moved on but all are still pro footballers in league 1 or above...

Not to mention the boys he helped through at West Ham.... Joe Cole holds glen in very high regard for his contribution at WHU...

I think he'll defo look to bring on young players... in fact i think he has no other choice if he is wanting to have a bigger squad. It's just a case of adding a bit of strength into those young bodies.... i.e daley, davis, Lathorpe, Richardson, Stephens etc etc...
