Re: Old Men Shouldn't Wear Replica Shirts!

Blimey Wiz !

You are still a boy yet, I'm years older than you mate, although we appear to have the same physical characteristics.

I don't go to matches often these days, but when I do I do wear the shirt/ scarf (which go back to the "Colmans" days, sh !).

Sadder still I put the same stuff on when cheering the Canaries when I'm listening to the match on the radio at home.

Oh dear, no hope for me I'm afraid.

Of course not DDD, we all know that Wiz is exempt from the law of the messageboard!  Personally, I think everyone and anyone should wear it if they wish (whatever their age).  One of the most impressive sights that I've seen at a match is almost every Sunderland supporter (men, women, children, grannies etc etc) wearing their kit with pride the first time we played at the Stadium of Light.  Cut the ageism Wiz and get on with what you do best......moan.

I'm 60 in September, and I wouldn't be seen dead in City replica shirt in public.

I'm nearly bald with a beer and bad diet induced tummy, and I look bloody tragic in one. Okay, I admit I buy a new City shirt when a new kit is launched, but I wear them these days to potter around the house and garden.

In public, I wear one of my many smart City designer T shirts available from the club shop, they carry the same badge as the replic shirts anyway, they fit me better and hide the lumps! and to me, thats the important thing.

Next time you're in Carrow Road, look around at the old farts, gamely trying to squeeze into their replica's, don't laugh at them, all us old boys have been there..........and so will the current youngsters too one day!.

Replica shirts is a young mans game in my opinion, ie under 35.

Agreed?.Confused [*-)]

I always like the 'Dad on holiday wearing replica shirt complete with gold chain proudly displayed'.  Guaranteed to make you walk the other way and deny being English.

Mine fits fine thanks!! ....although it is xxl !

The kids insist I wear mine for any game we go to. I`ve got quite a collection dating back to the Fosters and N&P ( looked like a low flying pigeon had dive bombed it !)

Not too close to 60 yet though..

Some posters just don't get it do they?

Most of you have taken this thread in the good spirit it was intended. Sadly, one or two of you have seen the wizard's avatar, and thats all the excuse they need for a quick dig......................sigh, the price of infamy I guess!.Big Smile [:D]

Re: Old Men Shouldn't Wear Replica Shirts!

Oh dear, I'm 36, so that's it for me!

I only wear mine to games generally and although I consider myself to be in pretty good shape, I wouldn't wear it out socially (let's face it, bright yellow doesn't do it for most people). Also, my wife wouldn't be seen dead with me wearing it!

I don't have a problem with anyone else wearing one though, no matter what age they are.  If you want to be loud and proud then go for it.

Re: Old Men Shouldn't Wear Replica Shirts!
I am 49 soon and will still wear my shirt - I fit into it fine. Wiz it's a football shirt, not high fashion. We are going to watch a football team (hopefully) when we wear it, not stroll down a catwalk. Just wear it whenever you want, or are the fashion police taking over Lowestoft?
