It'll certainly be his team this season .............. but from List Q.
And if he builds a successful team from List Q we'll be saying sad farewells soon enough unless Cullum comes in and enables him to take things to the next level.

Not only are the incoming players "ordinary" (despite the usual dreamers' fanfare)....Roeder will not be able to motivate them beyond the early stages of the season and into where it starts to hurt......
Far from being the best thing since sliced bread (according to the usual suspects)...he is dull and lacking in the charisma required to bring the best out of limited ability. For that you need a Harry Redknapp....and Roeder will never be a Harry as long as he has a hole in his arse.....

Ok Mr. CluckCaster / FriedFriedBrains / whatever you're calling yourself to bump your own propaganda today, who is the man for the job if it ain't Roeder ? Because good old 'Arry already 'as a job, innit !

Peter Cullum could get "him" (a dynamic personality) here...but Smith will only ever get "left-overs". It all depends on what you're happy with and how limited your ambition.
Roeder personifies Smith....and that again (like Grant) will ultimately be the problem.

You have obviously forgotten that Pompey have a mega rich owner of their own and that they qualified for europe next season.
You really make me laugh, you came back with your extreme views and to start with worded stuff rationally and well. Now you have settled back in you have resorted back to the OTT bile you continually spouted until you got banned. You sir are just as pathetic as the over confident Delia loving brigade. 'Peter Cullum could get him', dont make me laugh, do you honestly believe that!!

Oh dear...I think you'll find that Harry did most of his dealings by not paying over the odds for anybody...but getting quality in.
Dream on and enjoy the candyfloss while it lasts......and who is it actually throwing the personal stuff about? Not me sunshine.....I'll leave that you.

Nobody like Serbian International and previous Portsmouth captain Dejan Stefanovic ? That's a shame, I thought we'd signed him.

Mmmmm.....I seem to remember saying recently that Smith will only get other peoples' leftovers. Stefanovich WAS Pompey captain maybe...but then Huckerby WAS a match winner once too. Why not try for Tom Finney while we're at it? He WAS the best player to wear an England shirt.
Time takes it's toll and he's now just another mercenary who will quickly get crocked and draw his wages from the physio's bench....
Time to move forward.

I will enjoy watching the new look squad start next season and I will worry about how we finance the move to the next level. I will remain optimistic that the search for new investment will be successful.
Thing is though our views are completely different, I look on with positivity and try to view every emerging situation objectively. Wheras you on the other hand have very extreme ideals and come across as consumed with hate against the current regime, and that is putting it mildly sunshine!!
My advice (if you want it) is calm it down a couple of notches.

But then Archie Macaulay was hardly a Harry was he. Neither was Ron Saunders. But both could boast seminal achievements in NCFC history. Getting the club up a division with solid runs at both levels thereafter.
If Roeder is two things he is both hardnosed and single-minded - with a point to prove and good current contacts in the game. My instinct says that he might just get lucky too.
If he does, watch out for a promotion challenge - if not, it could be League 1 here we come. I dont' expect a midtable finish.

the same Gary Doherty who was rated our 2nd most effective player after Dion Dublin by the championship stats people - blahbb
Yes, the same one who did not sign with any other team after holding out to the last minute, the same one who apparently got a significant anough wage reduction to make him want to go elsewhere, but when no offers came in, realized he had no other choice since driving a taxi doesn't pay as well as being a Canary. Yes, that one. Statistics are for losers, surly in this case because if he was as good as you think he was, there would have been teams ALL OVER him offering big money to come play for them.
Shame you were too busy not brushing your gapped snaggled teeth to notice.

Ooh, here's a thought, maybe he was playing hard-ball with his contract and failed ? There could be any one of a thousand reasons why other teams didn't come in for him. Why didn't Fozzy go to Charlton ? Better the devil you know, maybe ?

I haven't been following Fotheringham at all, so I don't know why he didn't go to Charlton. All my energy was pent up in hoping for Doherty to not sign. Do you know we were scored on 10 goals more than the 2nd worst defense in the Prem his first years here? That is a huge gap between worst and second worst. We were not even CLOSE to being 2nd worst. The first 2 years back in the Coca Cola were not any better considering the drop in competition, and still we did much of nothing to alleviate the problem. Last year, he cost us a few games, and tried his best to cost us the game at Southampton. He is a liability, not an asset, and that is why nobody else signed him, not 1000 other reasons.
