So I am one of those that are ruining it for 'occassional friendly bumpers' like you? I have bumped 3 thread since I joined in December. Out of my 493 posts, 4 have been bumped. That equates to 0.81% of my threads being bumped.
I realise now that it is irritating, and I wont do it again, I didnt mean to cause offence..... But I hardly think you can call me some kind of persistant offender.
Mr Bump, you have bumped dozens more threads then me, so rather than hold me part responsible for this apparent uproar, why dont you make a commitment to stop this trend that you clearly started yourself?
As for everyone else, Im sorry if my bumping was irritating, I didnt realise that it was being done as a regular thing, but I have only bumped 4 threads like I said. Not really anything I should be apologising about, but I wont do it again.

The point SWIW is that its not a regular thing and we'd like to keep it that way, which is why this morning's silliness was jumped on....

If we ALL bumped .81% of our theads, then................. oh yah, it is irritating.
I imagine people bring up old threads just for a lark, the same way people start baseless rumors, to get a rise out of the participants, to see if they can get people going on something that turns out to be old news. It's like a high tech prank phone call, or at least that is my best guess. Tha it bothers people THIS much must be a huge reward for the offenders.
It looks like Pete has taken care of it, which begs the question of why old threads were left available if they were not intended to be brought back? Are they now completely inaccessible, or are they just no longer able to be brought into today's list of topics?
