The Dove Cote at Earlham Park

The most unusual dressing room must have been the Dove Cote on Earlham Park. This was alongside the pitch beside the river near the bridge. Although there were not many of our feathered friends using the building we still encountered one or two that wouldn't move from their perch, so if you were one of the last players to arrive you got the seat under the sitting birds. As for the pitch this had huge ridges the length of it, I seem to remember being told this was because part of the ground was ploughed during the war. I first played on this pitch for my school which was the Henderson later to be re-named the Bowthorpe and now sadly is no more. My next encounter with the pitch was playing for Carrow in the Business House league. Is the Dove Cote still there?
