Yes Mark, I remember Sloughbottom and the pitch at Taverham - plus Nick Nelson and the rest of the Nelson clan. Definitely good times and not a bad team. We were coached by Alan Black (great bloke), with the occassional appearance of Jimmy Bone at training. Very fond memories of the team. Managed to meet up with Dave (?) the manager and President Bob Clarke a couple of years ago on a trip back to the UK. Where else but the Silver Fox after a game?

Of course the love of Taverham FC lingers. Under the guidance of Dave Wilson and Bobby Clarke. i remember Spike and squash matches at the sports village.
Robbie Gambol and Bates, drinks in the Galley Hills pub. Kevin Marten who I think played in goal.
I playrd my first match when i was 13 and my last at 35, there were some great players and some great coaches over the years, Alan Black, Jimmy Bone, Mal Lucas. Training at Taverham Hall School, Neil Warner, The Watlings, then later at Beach Avenue and the old guy who marked the lines, stone collecting from the pitch. Then to Sloughbottom and the time Spike talks of. Lee Welch, Glenn Wones etc and another coach, the guy who was coach to the city his name escapes me.
Great times, grat days, anybody from the club post a thread and make this the place for us old fu...rs toget together.
