Pattison is worth keeping IMHO. Everyone saying no, why do you think Korey Smith is up to it? He's had one good game...
I'd have him for back-up at the most currently. He would benefit from dropping down another division for a season I think.
City and Lambert answered a few questions for me at Leeds last night, our side WILL go up in one of the two top places........add that to your signatures!

We should definitely keep Fatty Patty & play him in the middle of the park or on the left flank. No matter how much we all want it, Hoolahan will be sold & play at a higher level. I think Fatty would be awesome in this league & was better than average in the Championship, its just a shame Gunn doesn't seem willing to give him another shot!!
Darren Huckerby was sent to save us. Glenn Roeder had other ideas!

He would be in my squad everytime if his head was right. Just the type of player we need and we are very short on wide players.

Exactly KG, he will be a big asset to us this year.
I don't know how much longer I can continue the delusional long term optimism.

What did he & Gunn fall out over? Did they actually 'fall out' or does Gunn just not rate him?

I think that Patty was upset that GR left as he bought him here.

thing is, bar a couple like Clingan and maybe Wes the players that got relegated last season got relegated for a reason... they're not good enough. I don't think Pattison offers enough to Norwich. for that matter neither does Russell.
I think both will go.
We cannot afford to have three senior left midfielders in the side and we can't afford to have four senior central midfielders either... same goes for the strike force... (Curo needs to be moved on)
That is why you bring in the youngsters, you have one or two seniors in a position and then a youngster to plug the gap.
To me, i think Pattison needs to improve his positioning and his defending. I can't believe people would play him in the centre after some of the performances he gave last year. I keep going on about this one particular game but it really showed Pattison's weakness... Notts Forest at home. Two of their goals, Patty is walking as their players waltzes past him and onto a bal to score.
Patty is an okay player but will prob be on highish wages - something we cannot afford to have in our squad.
If you add to the fact that Lappin has signed a deal for two years i think the writing might very well be on the wall for our ginger saffa.

just to add.. in this league especially you really need a top striker... to get one we need to have the money there to pay their wages. Look at Lambert and Huddersfield. The terriers are not happy at the wage demands... thing is, you need a 30 goals a season striker if you want to win this league.
Getting the likes of Pattison off the wage bill and replacing him with youngsters, players like McVeigh on a pay as you play or players like Neilson who will ask for a low wage and could prove to be excellent, then gives you the extra money in the pot to afford a Lambert or a Dickinson.
I personally think we could go in for Rickie, although the problem with him is his re sale value as he is late twenties... (Huddersfield also have issue with this)

um... what do you mean try to accept this? am i in denial or something? haha it's just my opinion that he might be a surprise signing that's all.
I don't think it is a likely deal but i think a player of his calibre will get signed.
we won't get promoted without a 20-30 goals a season player in the side and goals over the past 3 seasons have been very hard to come by, so this needs to be seriously addressed. Lee is a Howard or Billy Painter type player, the one who causes a lot of problems foor opp defences allowing the top striker to get in. This needs to be a Lambert or a Dickinson or a Glen Murray (Brighton former Rochdale striker)
Look at all three teams who went up last season;
Leicester - Matty Fryatt 30 odd goals King 10 goals Howard 12-14 goals Scunthorpe - Hooper 20+ goals Hayes 20 goals Peterborough - MaClean 20+ Mackail-Smith 20+ Boyd 15 odd goals
Any manager or coach in football will know that Norwich need to bolt on a decent striker who'll score the goals. That is why i haven't 'accepted' that we won't sign him as i think he is a possibility.
