People have the chance to meet Norwich City legend Darren Eadie at the Castle Mall in Norwich today.

The former Norwich City footballer will be at the shopping centre between noon and 2pm today joining in with the sporting fun taking place outside Argos and New Look on level one.

People will also be able to have their photo taken with Darren for a 50p donation to the Castle Mall’s chosen charity, Nelson’s Journey.

There will be inflatable sports cages with cricket, basketball and football at the shopping centre from 10am until 4pm today and tomorrow. Shoppers can either enjoy the activities in the sports cages for fun, or try to win a £10 Mall gift card by reaching the top of the leader board in the competitions.

Victoria Merrison, marketing manager at Castle Mall, says: “It is great to be able to join in with the sporting buzz that is going around the whole country at the moment – we hope adults and children alike will come along to take part and perhaps meet one of Norfolk’s sporting heroes at the same time.”

All sports are free of charge, but people are invited make a donation to Nelson’s Journey, which supports bereaved children in Norfolk.

Other free children’s activities, including face painting, circus workshops and Punch and Judy shows, will be held throughout the summer holidays at the Castle Mall on August 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30.
