How will you be celebrating Norwich City’s successful survival mission?
Football supporters have come up with all kinds of weird and wonderful ways to celebrate over the years.
Just last weekend more than 170 supporters of Hartlepool United left Londoners shocked when they arrived at King’s Cross Station dressed as blue Smurfs en route to Charlton Athletic, soon becoming an online hit.
While fans of Swansea City - who have shared the limelight with the Canaries this season by impressively securing Premier League survival - are planning their own stunt this weekend.
Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is encouraging their supporters to dress as Elvis Pressley for their final home match of the season, against Liverpool.
Rodgers said: “I will be asking all the fans if they can wear as many Elvis Presley costumes as we can because when we got promoted the bookies said there was more chance of seeing Elvis Presley than us staying at this level.”
Here are a few suggestions for how Norwich supporters can celebrate:
- Wear a Grant Holt mask.
- Wear green and yellow facepaint.
- Dress as Paul Lambert or Delia Smith.
- Write ‘Mission accomplished – NCFC 2011-12’ on a plain T-shirt.
- Take an inflatable toy.
- Take ‘Grant Holt and John Ruddy for England’ signs.

Ged clearly knows all about being a laughing stock. Is there somewhere selling Holt masks or are people making these themselves?

Dress up as Ged Steero? Perhaps not-- blue and white wouldn't go down too well.

Some of you lot need to grow up. You're turning our once great club into even more of a joke already is. We're a national laughing stock and you aren't helping matters. Ged - Legend and Players Pal.

Nosbod - bring it on!!! Holty for England! I'm deffo going to make a banner - that's my weekend sorted! And come on Yarmy - let's make it into a party. Oh, and don't complain about inflatables - if you were a Swansea fan you'd be expected to dress up as Elvis - what's better, inflatables or a ground full of Elvises?

I've got a England shirt with Holt 9 on the back. How good would it be to see loads of them at Carrow Rd Sunday?!

But on the other hand, Ged could take his inflatable friend, sit her on his knee and give the other ticket from his extensive player, league and management social network to Dubai Canary. Go on, you know you want to.

I am not sure that "take an inflatable toy" is the sort of thing that should be encouraged at a family event.

What a total embarrassment. We have a bad enough reputation for being country bumpkins and a bit thick, without playing up to the stereotype. Barely avoiding relegation isn't exactly something to celebrate anyway. We really don't do ourselves any favours. Ged - Friend of the players and celebrity fan.

I was only trying to get the Jarrold involved a bit - and we've got so much to celebrate! So come on - just give us a smile and take a joke for once!

Thinking of getting a bit of the Barclay in the Jarrold! Anyone with me? I'm thinking paddling pools, the Grant Holt stand (everyone with Holt masks), that sort of thing!
