Ian Culverhouse is urging King’s Lynn Town to become more streetwise if they are going to make an impact in the Southern League next season.

Culverhouse says his side need to develop a “nasty streak” to start turning some of their performances into results.

Two second half goals condemned Lynn to defeat at Westwood Road and a frustrated Culverhouse said: “This performance tells me a lot.

“You can’t go from what we produced on Saturday to how we performed today. It shows that there is a difference in mentality and a bit of mindset and that’s got to change next season.

“We are far too nice at the minute. If we are going to challenge for promotion next season, we can’t be nice, we’ve got to be horrible.

“We’ve got to find that will to win and desire, as we laid down far too easily and accepted the result today.”

Lynn’s hopes of a top-half Southern League finish were ended by goals from Liam McDevitt midway through the second half and Danny Kelly ten minutes from time.

“We were poor all over, from the back to the front,” lamented Culverhouse.

“It was awful. We were poor on the ball and poor in both boxes, it just wasn’t good enough.

“Two routine balls into our box have ended up in the back of the net. It’s something we’ve got to look at and something we’ve got to make sure we get right.

“Our centre forwards don’t get a free header from six yards out from a ball into the box.

“We then conceded from a restart from a throw-in into our box because our organisation was very poor.”

The Linnets offered very little going forward and had it not been for the heroics of Alex Street with a string of fine saves in the second half then the final outcome could have been far worse.
