The 27-year-old’s CV includes spells at Cambridge United – where he began his career – Cambridge City, Stevenage, Lincoln City and Royston Town.

Marriott – who is from Brandon – has signed a two-year deal at The Walks, with joint managers Robbie Back and Neil Fryatt looking to get Lynn’s scoring machine firing on all cylinders again.

“Adam’s goal scoring record in the game speaks for itself,” Back told the club’s official web site.

“Over the last couple of games we have missed a load of chances and it was obvious that we needed a player who can put the ball in the back of the net.

“Neil (Fryatt) and myself have been tracking Adam at Boston United the last few weeks and we are delighted that he has signed a two-year deal with the club.

“As well as being a proven goal scorer, he has also played in the pro game so is another good player to bring into the group. He also played with Gashy at Cambridge United, so that’s another advantage for us.”

Marriott was part of the youth academy at Norwich City but left in 2006, at the age of 15, for Cambridge United, where he 10 goals in 56 appearances, 35 off the bench.

He also had a loan spell at Bishop’s Stortford.

He dropped to the Southern League Premier Division and in 2013-14 plundered a stunning 40 goals for the Lilywhites.

He then moved on to Stevenage and Lincoln City, helping the Imps to the National League title and the FA Cup quarter-finals in 2016-2017. Marriott set up Nathan Arnold for the goal which knocked out Ipswich Town in a third round replay upset and came on for 12 minutes of Lincoln’s 5-0 quarter-final defeat at Arsenal, where he played alongside Norwich City defender Sean Raggett.

Marriott moved on to Royston Town in the Southern League Premier Division last season, scoring 31 goals, one of which came against the Linnets in a 2-0 defeat at Garden Walk.

Marriott joined the Pilgrims from Royston Town in the summer, where he linked up with former team-mates Arnold and Jonny Margetts.
