Morley Village beat Bridgham United 2-1 to move a step closer to the Division One runners up spot – they need to win their last match at Northwold on Tuesday evening to make absolutely sure of the position.
Their only rivals for the place are Dereham Town A who have already finished on 45 points and Tacolneston who were held to a 3-3 home draw by Northwold S&SC. Tacolneston’s last fixture is at home to league champions Feltwell United who went down to a 2-1 defeat at Shropham United in their penultimate match.
Yaxham made sure of promotion from Division Two with a 7-0 win against Thurton & Ashby while second-placed North Elmham also won 6-2 at Breckland Wanderers. Yaxham will probably need maximum points from their remaining four fixtures to make sure of the runners up medals. Sporle beat Nostro by the odd goal of five while West End beat Saham Toney Reserves 5-1 to climb above them and leave Saham occupying bottom place.
Division Three leaders Bawdeswell maintained their unbeaten record with a 3-2 win at Stoke Ferry while Mulbarton Wanderers Reserves moved back into second place as a result of their 6-1 win at Wendling. Tugas United won 4-0 at Great Cressingham to maintain their hopes of the Divisional title although the seven games they have left in just over two weeks may prove to be too much of a challenge. The final promotion place is now between Rampant Horse who finished their fixtures with a 1-1 home draw against Colkirk, Marham Wanderers and Wendling. At the other end of the table, Hingham Athletic Reserves beat bottom team Narborough Reserves 2-0 while Rockland United Reserves moved above Splitz United after beating them 3-1.
Litcham virtually clinched the Division Four title with a 4-0 home win over Nostro Reserves – they would have to lose their remaining match by over 30 goals to concede it to Watton United A. Shropham United Reserves beat Shipdham Reserves 3-2 and now need just one point to make sure of the last promotion place while five points from their remaining three fixtures would enable them to edge out North Elmham Reserves for third spot. Methwold Rovers Reserves were beaten 3-1 at home by Tacolneston Reserves while a 6-3 home defeat for Methwold United at the hands of Beetley United means that they will have to apply for re-election to the league. The other match between Weasenham Wanderers and Walsingham United ended as a 2-2 draw.
