Bungay Town Ladies once again fell just short of a win on Sunday.
AFC Sudbury came to The Maltings and won 3-1 but if only Bungay had taken half of the chances they created it would have been a much different score line.
Starting the much brighter team Bungay went close with both Michelle Stanborough and Rio Dalaston going close, and when Bungay took the lead from a well-worked short corner Leo Daulby blasted home from the edge of the box it looked good, but once again defenceive mistakes undid all the hard work.
First the Sudbury wing was allowed to centre to the far post for a forward to score and then a through ball was missed by Remy in the Bungay goal in a 1-1 to make it 2-1 at half time.
In the second half it was clear it was not to be Bungay’s day as chance after chance when begging and when they did get a shot on goal the keeper was lucky to push the ball on to a post, then Emily Leach had a goalbound header cleared off the line.
To rub salt in, Sudbury scored a third when one of their players was left ungarded from a corner to give an unjust score line.
Michelle Stanborough cannot be faulted for her hard work up front but somehow Bungay must get support to her,
Player of the match: Amber Rowland.
