Canaries’ midfielder Alex Tettey is confident the club’s new head coach will find a squad desperate to put right the wrongs of the recent Championship season.

Tettey admitted finishing outside the top six was not good enough in a campaign that saw the departure of Alex Neil. The Canaries expect to be in a position to reveal the Scot’s replacement by the end of the month, and the Norwegian predicts a bright future.

“Whoever comes in, we will be happy about it and crack on,” he told the club’s official site. “I’ve been told it’s going to be exciting times so I hope that’s going to be true. I have no idea what’s going to happen but that’s football and I accept it.

“I like the place, I like the people and I like Norwich City. It’s a good environment to be working in and I want to be part of it.

“We had some really good games and some really poor games. It’s been a tough season, with the manager going, but it’s gone now. We need to let it go and start fresh in the summer. Inside the dressing room we know how good we can be as a team. We have a good group and hopefully, when the new coach comes in, it will make it exciting.”
