Russell Martin will complete his loan move to Rangers this week - with Steven Naismith and Cameron Jerome also reportedly set for Carrow Road exits.

Reports in Scotland on Sunday night claim Martin is poised for a medical in Glasgow on Monday, to finally complete his much touted move to Ibrox. The 32-year-old is poised to link up wth City’s former development coach Graeme Murty for the rest of the season.

Martin made it clear during his media stint at last week’s FA Cup third round tie against Chelsea he expected to move on loan this month, with Daniel Farke giving the club captain his blessing.

The 32-year-old has not featured since a 4-0 Championship rout at Millwall in August.

Farke also expects team mate Naismith to resolve his short term future in the next two weeks. The midfielder is also linked to Rangers and first club Kilmnarnock.

“Steven Naismith made it clear he is going to search for another club, another challenge. It could be in the next two weeks there is a solution. Not yet,” said Farke. “I would have no problems to go further on with him but we have given him this space to search for something else.

“It could be there is a solution. If not, he will be here.

“There is no pressure for us to force anything. With Russ, I mentioned several times, a player with such a big personality who has done so much for this club if he has a wish to go on loan we must be respectful. It is necessary to speak with him.”

Naismith himself, in a BBC blog on Saturday made it clear there has been no fallout with the German or sporting director Stuart Webber.

“The manager here has been honest with me,” he said. “It is just circumstance. I am an experienced player who signed when the club were in the Premier League and now things have changed.

“The manager has brought in players he believes in and feels they should be playing.

“I can’t say a bad word about him or Stuart Webber, the director of football. I see him every day; we have some good chats.

“This is just part of football. If something comes up that interests me and my family and suits Norwich then something might get done.

“But, when you take away the hustle and bustle of football, we are in such a privileged position. You have to enjoy it.

“There have been a lot of stories linking me with two of my old clubs, Kilmarnock and Rangers.

“I have not spoken to either of them, but I am not ruling out any clubs at this stage.”

Meanwhile, Cameron Jerome has again been touted with Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County and Cardiff City.

Jerome missed City’s 1-0 win at Bristol City after a disrupted week with a back complaint but Daily Telegraph’s John Percy reports both clubs are willing to test Norwich’s resolve, with Jerome reportedly valued around £1.5m to £2m.

The Rams were also touted with Nelson Oliveira last week, as Gary Rowett’s squad eye automatic promotion.
