Everton’s Steven Naismith believes the Toffees should have been out of sight before Norwich City staged a late fightback.

The Merseysiders controlled the contest for the first hour but only had Leon Osman’s header to show for their efforts, allowing Norwich to make a memorable comeback late on.

“We’ve had possession for an hour of the game, comfortable possession, and not created as many chances as we should have,” said Naismith. “In the end, that’s cost us.

“But a team of our experience should be able to see the game out and the boys are disappointed for that fact alone.

“As a team we are disappointed because of the kind of goals we lost.

“It’s a real disappointment and I think more so because we probably controlled the game for the first hour. After that Norwich probably went a bit more direct and the two boys up front caused us a few problems.”
