Lappin will join the Championship club with immediate effect and will be available for selection for Malky Mackay’s side ahead of their away trip to Barnsley this Saturday.

The loan deal is set to run until January 1st 2013, inclusive of the Birmingham City away fixture, although Norwich City have the ability to recall their player after 28 days.

The 29-year-old will wear squad number 24.

  • I hold Lapps in the same esteem I did Adam Drury, a true professional who just gets on with what is asked of him and delivers. I wish him well and he will a very good addition to Malky's squad. I would also hazard a guess he will go there fulltime although I would like to see him back again as players of his character are few and far between. OTBC

  • I hear Malky may be bringing Rob Earnshaw back from Israel for his own safety. Could we do a loan-swap of the adopted Jewish Prince for the King of Spain? ;-)

  • That's a great move for him - game time in a pretty successful team. His past promotion experience with NCFC should be good for Cardiff. He might even link up with Bellers. Shame our other recent loans out couldn't have been of the same quality.

  • Does anyone know what's happened to Kane? He seems to have disappeared without trace since his injury.

  • Top professional. I am hardly surprised, as first team football has been very restricted since leaving the Championship. Wish him all the best. I am concerned our squad though be a bit thin if any injuries hit prior to January when new recruits arrive.

  • I can`t recall Lapps having a "bad" game. After an away defeat (at Plymouth?) Roeder saw fit to banish Simon to train with the juniors. Under PL he made great contribution to our escape from L1 and never disgraced himself when called on to deputise at LB in the Prem. A much underrated player. Malky would serve Cardiff well to land him. Btw, Auntie BBC says we signed him for £100,000 in January. Which year?? He`s worth a reasonable fee now - how much contract left........? JGLives, I think Kane is being repaired @ Spurs (a small ankle op?) and is due to re-join us in December. Can`t remember where I read that. Does anybody have firmer info?

  • Good luck Lapps. Good man! You`ll be able to interpret for Malky, too!

  • That memory of Carra Rud, 1953, must make you about early 60`s JGL? I was 5 then but didn`t go to a game until I was about 11, when I went with a school pal. Don`t think I ever went to a match with my dad. He`d say "**** that while the pubs are open"! Seriously, he worked @ Norwich Rugby Club, Fifers Lane on Saturdays so couldn`t have gone to the Carra.

  • Agree with you about Lappin, Brew, as our good friend Mr. Pulis would say, he's a top top bloke. But Vaughan was obviously shipped out to Huddersfield to prove that he could go a season without injury problems - which hasn't happened, unfortunately. He's now missed a total of seven games through injury, including the last five in a row (due to a thigh strain picked up in training), and unless he drastically improves on that record I can't see CH welcoming him back. Ayala is a reasonable player, but doesn't have the quality of any of the current back four, methinks. Coming back to you from a previous thread, no, I'm not the same Johnny, although he was an early hero of mine. First saw him at Carrow Road on Easter Monday 1953, perched on top of my father's shoulders (me, not Johnny). Result was City 5 Leyton Orient 1, and I've been a fan ever since, although nowadays from 6,000 miles away.

  • Funny how quickly Hoots has shown the exit door to a goodly number of PL signings, shefcanary. Didn`t agree with most of them, specially Ayala & Vaughan, but the back 4 are all his own men now, and the clean sheets are beginning to accrue. I wish Lapps all the luck in the world; he came through his ordeal by humiliation at the hands of Roeder with great dignity. I think Peter Grant signed Lapps and I saw him score against Cardiff (I think) @ Carra Rud.

  • Pity about Vaughan, JGL. Also Ayala`s had a bit of time off. Hoots seems to be making all the right calls just now. Long may it continue. At least we`re safe from Chelsea for a while!
