Six of the last seven league fixtures between West Ham and the Canaries have finished in draws. The exception was a 1-0 Premiership victory for City at Carrow Road in August 1994, courtesy of a goal by Mark Robins.

The last three league meetings between the two clubs at Upton Park have ended in score-draws. In January 1994, John Deehan’s second Premiership game in charge of City, a televised Monday night fixture, ended 3-3, Chris Sutton scoring twice with Ruel Fox also on target.

The following season, 1994-95, it finished 2-2 as the Canaries squandered the two-goal lead given them by Darren Eadie and Robert Ullathorne, Tony Cottee replying twice for the Hammers in the final six minutes. The match was notable for the sending-off of City’s Andy Johnson by stand-in referee Martin Sims in a case of mistaken identity. Spencer Prior later served the one-match ban.

In October 2003, on-loan Peter Crouch scored a second-half equaliser to earn the Canaries a valuable point in a Nationwide League Division One promotion clash.

City boss Chris Hughton also had two score-draws against the Hammers as Birmingham manager last season – 1-1 at St Andrew’s on Boxing Day and 3-3 in the Easter Monday return fixture.

City have won four of their 20 league fixtures at Upton Park, their last victory coming on Easter Monday 1989, when Andy Linighan and Malcolm Allen secured a 2-0 win against the relegation-bound Hammers.
