Fifa has granted temporary international clearance for defender Steven Whittaker to join Norwich City.
Newco Rangers chief executive Charles Green had attempted to block moves for Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty, Steven Whittaker and Jamie Ness to Everton, Sion, Norwich and Stoke respectively.
But Fifa has granted temporary dispensation for the moves until full international clearance is given.
Steven Davis’s switch to Southampton has yet to be ratified.

Kent Anglian, I hope you will do a "U"-turn on your decision to retire from these boards. Keep up the % of sensible people!

Yes, I am sure they will, MB!! You could be right about the precedent being set though.

That`s interesting, Kent Anglian. I noticed that he`d not got Fifa clearance but it would now seem it was not needed anyway. There could be more twists and turns in this yet. Had Steve Davis previously agreed to a move to the Newco? Something`s different. Or has a precedent been set? I`m sure our local investigative journalists will soon ferret it out.

What it does not report here (but did on BBC website two days ago) is that Southampton have agreed an 'undisclosed fee' with Mr Green for Steven Davis. It also states that the transfer will not need FIFA ratification or tribunal.

Was the ratification free of charge or is Fifa expecting a "tip" for their efforts?
