Player ratings for both Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion following their Premier League clash.

• Norwich City:

5 Mark Bunn: Excellent first half stop from Romelu Lukaku. Failed to deal with Chris Brunt’s cross for the equaliser.

6 Steven Whittaker: Useful attacking foil for Robert Snodgrass during first period. Hip injury is a worry for the festive period.

6 Michael Turner: Must share collective responsibility for allowing Lukaku to escape. Spurned inviting headed chance.

6 Sebastien Bassong: Likewise, left Lukaku to isolate Javier Garrido. Otherwise, went toe-to-toe with the Belgian powerhouse

5 Javier Garrido: Exposed aerially by Lukaku for the match-winner. Not the first, won’t be the last.

7 Alex Tettey: One mis-placed pass aside that earned Michael Turner a booking, another all-action shift.

6 Bradley Johnson: Shows no signs of running out of steam. Glancing stoppage time header almost salvaged a point.

8 Robert Snodgrass: Deadly at set pieces. Stockpiling the goals and assists. Norwich’s star performer in recent weeks.

6 Wes Hoolahan: Will have felt Grant Holt’s absence more keenly than most. Struggled to leave a lasting impression.

6 Anthony Pilkington: Late cross for Simeon Jackson was a rare glimpse of the attacking potency of recent weeks. Defensively disciplined.

5 Steve Morison: Failed to grab his chance to shine in captain’s absence. Indecision proved fatal with only clear-cut sighter.

Subs: Russell Martin (for Whittaker) 5, Jonny Howson (for Hoolahan) 5, Simeon Jackson (for Tettey) 5

• West Bromwich Albion:

5 Ben Foster: Keeper of his pedigree will feel he let Norwich’s opener through his grasp. Questionable distribution.

6 Billy Jones: Good battle with Anthony Pilkington. Tried to get forward in support.

6 Gareth McAuley: Saving block to foil Steve Morison in the second period. Miscued a header at the other end.

7 Jonas Olsson: Attacked Chris Brunt’s corner for Albion’s equaliser. The leader of the home defence. Classy, unflustered.

7 Goran Popov: Clearly a home fans’ favourite. Never far from the action. Inadvertent assist for the equaliser and the winner.

7 Chris Brunt: West Brom’s ‘go-to’ man on the set pieces. Crafted the equaliser and a later chance for Gareth McAuley.

5 Graham Dorrans: Never really got on the ball enough in a deeper-lying central midfield role. No surprise he was hooked.

6 Zoltan Gera: Sharp instincts to react quickest to rifle West Brom level. Wasteful in possession on occasion.

6 James Morrison: Under-rated performer but not one of his more eyecatching outings. Wellmarshalled by City midfield.

6 Peter Odemwingie: Perhaps not as effective deployed in a wider role. Brought down Robert Snodgrass for City’s opener.

8 Romelu Lukaku: Athletic leap for the headed match-winner capped a vibrant display. Constant threat to City’s backline.

Subs: Marc-Antoine Fortune (for Dorrans) 6, Shane Long (for Gera) 6, Gabriel Tamas (for Lukaku) 6

  • I thought Tettey was well below his best. Then, he`s probably worth a 7 anyway!

  • Re Tettey I'm afraid there was more than ONE misplaced pass.

  • Agree with Doc. As much as I like Tettey, there`s no point in going into denial when he has the odd bad game. I don`t know whether Divot makes up these number on his own, they are purely random or he has a panel of like-mindless journos to help him.
