Norwich City midfielder Millie Daviss says the Canaries haven't given up on promotion despite their seven-point gap to league leaders Wimbledon.

City face an uphill battle to catch up with the Dons, who are comfortable favourites for promotion with just four games left of the league season.

Childhood Norwich fan Daviss says they'll do their all to reach the third tier as long as it's mathematically possible, however, and that the belief remains alive within the camp.

"Everything's kind of settled a little and we're back on track," she said. "We know what we want and how we're going to get it. We're quite happy with how things are going at the minute.

"In terms of not actually losing a game this season, that's an achievement in itself. Yes, it does hurt that we aren't in control of that promotion anymore, but you never know.

"We're going to keep fighting and keep going and keep plugging away until it's said that we can't go up or proven that we can. We'll see at the end of the season what the outcome is, but Wimbledon have still got games to play."

In the likely case that promotion isn't secured, the 25-year-old still feels City are in with a good chance of doing so next season.

"Obviously on the pitch we've just got stronger as a group," she continued, speaking to The Pink Un. "We've developed training twice a week, and the facilities that we have at Colney are incredible.

"We have a lot of staff to back us up, in terms of our physical fitness, our recovery, all that sort of thing. It really does help, you can see a massive difference.

"Off the pitch as well that clearly helps, so we've definitely improved as a collective. We've had some new players that have come in and it's competitive, enjoyable and we'll just do our best.

"We've laid the foundations and we've got plenty to build on now. If it doesn't happen this season, we'll strive for it next season.

"With the personnel around, the staff, the players, the facilities, everything behind us, what's to say we couldn't?"
