Anglian Combination round-up: The wait is over for Cromer Town after beating Attlebough Town
Cromer Town gained their first win in nearly two years as they claimed a 2-1 win over Attleborough Town in the First Division of the Anglian Combination.
The Crabs, who last tasted victory in the league in March 2016 against Norwich CEYMS, produced the shock of the day as goals from Julio Pinto and Ronnie Silva gave them all three points. Tom Miles got the goal for Attleborough.
Elsewhere in the second tier Wymondham stayed top after a 5-1 win away at second bottom Loddon. Aaron Nixon (2), Joe Woodcock, Tommy Salmon and Jordan Rocastle earned the visitors victory with Loddon replying via an own goal.
Mundford still sit second but lost ground as they lost 2-0 at UEA, who scored through Emery Clarke and Luke Young to move up to third.
Sheringham lost their second game in a row as they lost 2-1 away at mid table Kirkley and Pakefield Reserves. Kaiden Goldspink and Lee Will earned Kirkley the points with Ben Boyce scoring for Sheringham.
Hindringham put some space between themselves and the bottom two with a 3-2 win at home against Watton thanks to strikes from Darren West (2) and Asa Saunders. James Beaumont (2) got Watton’s goals.
Aylsham and Bungay played out a 1-1 draw at Youngs Park with Aylsham scoring through Sam Bryant and Bungay via Shaun Flint.
North Walsham and Yelverton also played out a 1-1 draw as Dan Crosby (Walsham) and Lewis Clary (Yelverton) shared the spoils.
In the Premier Division leaders Harleston were without a game so it fell to the chasing pack to try and make up some ground.
Second-placed CEYMS had a 2-1 home win over Stalham thanks to goals from Ashley Baxter and Jack Smith. Pat Gainsford replied for the away side.
Mulbarton are third with games in hand as goals from Ben Thompson (2) and Jamie George gave them a 3-1 home win over Caister for whom Scott Woodcock netted.
Bradenham lost ground as they lost away at Long Stratton who had Sam Page to thank for their three points.
Blofield and Hellesdon played out a breathless 3-3 draw with all of the Beavers’ goals coming from Orren Oliver and Hellesdon finding the net via Tom Blake (2) and Jack Hurrell.
Mattishall bounced back from two straight defeats with a 2-1 home win over Beccles. Xavier Huckle struck twice for Mattishall with Neil Hurren replying for Beccles.
The battle of the basement sides saw Acle come out on top as they beat Reepham 5-1. Cameron Hudson (2), Brett Colclough, Seamus Bobby and Blake Harrison scored for Acle with Martin Bramble scoring for Reepham.
St Andrews went down 1-0 at home against Waveney.
