FOULSHAM 2, WELLS RESERVES 2
Wells Reserves fought back from 2-0 down to secure a point in their first league match of this new season, late in the second half a goal each for Scoles and Somerton earned a point with only minutes of the contest left.
t WYMONDHAM TOWN RESERVES 0, NEWTON FLOTMAN 0
For the third season in a row Wymondham Town Reserves began their season with a draw. In a keenly contested match against a hard-working Newton Flotman side, Town had the better chances with Overall, Butler and Peel all being denied by the visitors' goalkeeper who was in inspired form. In the closing stages of the game Rackham finally beat the keeper; however he was found to be in an offside position so the goal was disallowed. Newton Flotman also had a chance to win the game as Wymondham's keeper Pitcher saved well and the ball was scrambled away. Despite only taking a point Town can be encouraged by this performance, in particular, defenders Peel, Sleigh-Smith and Felgate.
t BRANDON TOWN RESERVES 1, WYMONDHAM TOWN RESERVES 3
The following Wednesday Town travelled to the previously unbeaten Brandon Reserves. Wymondham started well, with new signings Gary O'Brien and Chris Johnson making their full debuts. Midway through the first half Town took the lead through a James Wells header after Simon Freemantle beat the left back and whipped in a great cross. Then Wymondham went 2-0 up as Freemantle burst forward, rounded the keeper and finished from a tight angle. Wymondham then paid the price for a slow start to the second half and gave away a penalty which was well taken to make it 2-1. With the home side pushing forward looking to level the score, Wymondham broke quickly and a Jamie Butler pass found James Wells who made no mistake to make it 3-1.
