Cromer kept the Premier Division title chase alive - temporarily at least - with a 2-1 win over Beccles Town.

The result leaves Cromer 13 points behind leaders Wroxham Reserves with five games left to play, meaning Wroxham can win the title if they beat Dersingham next Saturday - assuming Cromer beat Mattishall tomorrow.

Anglian Combination: Cromer kept the Premier Division title chase alive - temporarily at least - with a 2-1 win over Beccles Town.

The result leaves Cromer 13 points behind leaders Wroxham Reserves with five games left to play, meaning Wroxham can win the title if they beat Dersingham next Saturday - assuming Cromer beat Mattishall tomorrow.

Jamie Hunton and Simon Durrant got Cromer's goals with Kevin Water-man on target for Beccles.

Gary Starling's goal for Mattishall could not stave off a 2-1 defeat at home to Hempnall, condemning Mattishall to a bottom-placed finish.

Hindringham drew 0-0 at Sheringham and could still finish outside the bottom two if they win their final game, against Lowestoft Town Reserves, and Brandon lose against Cromer.

But Brandon are high on confidence after a 2-0 win at home to Acle, Mark Winstone and Duncan Hewitt getting their goals.

Dersingham beat Blofield 1-0 courtesy of Stuart Able's strike.

In Division One, top of the table Loddon sent out a chilling message to their title rivals with a 10-1 demolition of mid-table Gayton.

Daniel Anderson got a hat-trick and also on target in the rout were Hadlee Wright (2), James Marjoribanks (2), Richard Summons, Gary Summons and Chris Hancock. Anthony Thaxton got Gayton's consolation.

Watton United's 3-1 win at Dereham Reserves put them second, as Kevin Bloomfield, Lewis Broomfield and Chris Sharpe scored for the visitors. Joel Brien replied for Dereham.

Wells Town beat Scole United 4-0 thanks to goals from Jody Murfit (2), Daniel Grocott and Niall McCallum.

The mid-table clash between Sole Bay and Long Stratton ended with honours even in a goalless draw.
