King's Lynn have announced a shirt sponsorship tie up with the town's biggest employer Bespak ahead of their Blue Square North kick off. The leading pharmaceutical company will have their logo on the club's shirts from tomorrow's Southern League Shield pre-season finale against Hillingdon Borough at The Walks.
King's Lynn yesterday announced a shirt sponsorship tie up with the town's biggest employer Bespak ahead of their Blue Square North kick off.
The leading pharmaceutical company will have their logo on the club's shirts from tomorrow's Southern League Shield pre-season finale against Hillingdon Borough at The Walks.
Lynn supporter Amanda Hodgson won the original shirt sponsorship ballot that raised more than £25,000 for the club. Linnets' spokesman Mark Hearle confirmed Ms Hodgson had waivered her right to the novel raffle prize after an undisclosed financial agreement was reached between all three parties.
“We would like to thank Amanda for this outstanding gesture and warmly welcome Bespak to the club,” he said. “It's great to see this level of support from fans and local business. I believe Amanda intends to make a sizeable donation to the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity and the remainder will go to Kev Kingham at the club for much needed kitchen equipment. It's much appreciated and underlines how we are all pulling together to help the club move forward.
“To have a company of Bespak's stature on board is great for us. We are hoping it's a partnership that can last well into the future beyond the initial football season. It can only be a positive relationship. We hope to give Bespak what they are looking for and vice versa. This is further evidence of how much interest there is in the local community from both business and our loyal supporters. With record season ticket sales and the huge response to the shirt sponsorship draw it is an exciting time to be involved with King's Lynn FC as we gear up for the new season.”
Chris Hall, Bespak's managing director, believes forging links with the club can be mutually beneficial.
“Our association with King's Lynn football club as the Southern League champions brings together two of the county's greatest success stories,” said Hall, whose company also sponsor the popular Great East Anglian fun run. “As King's Lynn's largest employer it is important that we support the local community as much as we can and this deal, together with our recent sponsorship of the Bespak Great East Anglian run, reaffirms our commitment to the town.”
Lynn's Blue Square North opening day opponents Burscough continued their impressive pre-season form with a 3-1 win over League Two Accrington Stanley in midweek.
Joey Dunn's squad target a fifth consecutive friendly win in their pre-season finale at Unibond minnows Bamber Bridge tomorrow before Keith Webb's side travel to Victoria Park.
