The King's Lynn winger and former Ipswich schoolboy was at Arsenal's home ground to pick up another award - the Southern League Premier Division Player of the Year. Francis scooped four player of the year awards at Lynn, who he joined last summer from Ridgeons League Premier Division side Woodbridge Town.

He scored 23 goals last season to help the Linnets clinch the British Gas Southern League Premier Division title.

Francis said: "I was in shock when I heard I had won the award because although I have had a very good season I did not expect anything like this to happen."

Among those making the presentations at the Emirates was Paul Parker, the former Manchester United player.

Francis said: "The whole day was brilliant. There was a three-course meal and the awards took place in one of the suites overlooking the pitch."

The 21-year-old has been attracting the interest of Football League clubs including Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday after an impressive first season at Lynn.

He added: "This season has got to be by far my best season in adult football and to win four player of the year awards at King's Lynn, win promotion and now receive this award is something I never expected to do.

"Hopefully I can go again and build on this when we play in Blue Square North next season."
