King's Lynn have extended defender Rikki Bains' loan deal until the end of the season. Linnets official Martin Davis travelled to Tamworth last night to complete the formalities to enable the 20-year-old to stay on after his initial one-month deal expires after the game at Bedford Town on Monday.

Bains can play anywhere along the back-line but has been playing right back, with Gavin Hoyte and Greg Crane filling the central positions. He has started five Southern League Premier Division games and one in the League Cup.

“Rikki came in and has done a good job in defence for us,” said Linnets boss Keith Webb last night.

“He has got good pace, he's quick, and he knows the game. He is enthusiastic.”

While Tamworth boss Gary Mills was happy to allow Bains to stay, Webb says no decision has been made on anything beyond the end of the season and whether or not a permanent deal can be put in place.

“It's not something I'm worried about at the moment,” said Webb. “My main concern is what happens between now and the end of the season - after that, what happens with Rikki may depend on where we're at.”
