Lynn FC have formally confirmed they intend to apply to join the Ridgeons Premier Division for the 2010/11 season.

Officials from the newly-launched club have made an application to the FA leagues' committee which will make an initial ruling next month. The Linnets' have also applied to enter next season's FA Cup and FA Vase competitions.

A club statement said: “Lynn FC have lodged an application with the FA leagues' committee who will meet in February to decide what 'appropriate' league they will recommend to play in next season. However any decision they make will have to be rubber stamped by the member clubs of that league at their AGM in early June.

“The preferred option of Lynn FC is the Ridgeons Premier League and the good news is that talks of a positive nature have already taken place between the club and league officials. Lynn FC will shortly be sending a letter to all Ridgeons clubs introducing themselves and it has also been decided that club officials will make a personal visit to as many of the clubs as possible over the next few months.

“An application has also been made to enter both the FA Cup and FA Vase competitions next season and a decision on these will once again be made in February. That leaves just the club's affiliation to the Norfolk FA left to secure and the club will be applying for that shortly.”
