King's Lynn boss Keith Webb is urging his men to be brave in tonight's crunch Southern League, Premier Division shoot out at leaders Team Bath (7.45pm)

Webb will fight fire with fire to combat 28-goal hitman Sean Canham as Lynn bid to re-ignite their title charge. Webb aims to borrow a page from the Gloucester play book after watching the Students' first defeat in nine games last week.

“Gloucester got at them, took the game to them and didn't let them settle - we need to do the same,” said Webb. “Canham is the main crux of their goalscoring capability but it's not about focusing on one man. If we stop the service to him then he's less effective. It's going to be tough and really tight but we can cause them problems.”

Webb expects the leaders to try and exploit Lynn's soft underbelly after conceding another late goal in Saturday's epic home draw against second-placed Halesowen.

“They will see that we've conceded late goals recently and think that is an area they can punish us,” he said. “Concentration must be the key. We have to play the game for 95 minutes, but confidence is still high. They've not been killing teams off lately if you look at their results - it's been a lot of late goals which I'm sure comes down to fitness levels and training full time.

“People can look at them and say they haven't had a blip but I don't honestly expect them to have one. They've got too many things going for them and too many good players to call on. We can't rely on any favours.”

Greg Crane is available after suspension. Midfielder Shaun Carey is drafted into the squad for the unavailable Andrew Fisk (work commitments). Webb hinted the former Norwich man could have a crucial role to play at Twerton Park.

“Shaun was in my thoughts even before the Halesowen game,” said Webb. “That result hasn't changed our gameplan or how I was looking to set the team up. We've got a lot of experience at the club and it needs to come to the fore. Shaun brings that to us.

“Everyone put in a shift against Halesowen. The only thing that disappointed me was not seeing the game out. We've gone away feeling a little bit flat but that can all change around if we get a positive result. The Halesowen game has gone. We have to learn from it and put it right in this one.”

Team Bath head coach Andy Tillson wants the leaders to turn up the heat after hitting top spot in recent weeks.

“There's still lots to do,” he said. “It has got to be about the lads' ambition now. You've got to want to win things and you will struggle if you haven't got that ambition. We lost one or two of the lads from last season, but it was important to keep most of them together. Sometimes you can read too much into things and break the team up without giving them the opportunity to have another go at it the following season.

“We've added a couple and we're in a decent position - one we want to keep hold of. We've got a very busy period coming up and the number of games to go will start to drop quickly because we are playing three times a week. It's up to us to keep the pressure on the sides chasing by continuing this run were on.”
