Latimer hits double for Anglian leaders

A brace from teenager Ben Latimer helped keep runaway leaders Wroxham Reserves 14 points clear at the top of the Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Premier Division.

The 16-year-old scored twice, while Kane Taylor and Ben Morgan also found the net in the

4-1 win at Halvergate United.

Lee Knell scored the Hares' consolation.

Lee Cosgrove bagged a double for second-placed Norwich Union in their 4-2 win against Dersingham Rovers.

Ian Smith and Ben Soanes were also on target for Union, with Gary English and Nelson Modeira replying.

Near the bottom, Beccles Town did their chances of survival a power of good, beating Brandon Town 3-1.

The win, thanks to Kevin Waterman, Sam Barham and Nicholas Day moves them out of the bottom three and to within two points of Brandon who sit in 12th.

Third-placed Blofield United and Hempnall in fourth, both recorded wins, 2-0 against Hindringham and 2-1 over Sheringham respectively.

Mattishall and Cromer Town and North Walsham Town and Lowestoft Town Reserves played out 1-1 draws.

The bottom two each took a hammering in Division One.

Fakenham Town Reserves, without a win all season, were thumped 9-1 at Wymondham, with James Pipe weighing in with a hat-trick.

Stuart Catchpole, added a brace while David Ramsbottom, Coren Hardy, Mark Mitchell and James McCloy all found the target.

Sprowston Rovers, who are just a place above Fakenham, lost 7-0 at Holt United.

Matthew Sanders scored twice and Jason Hawkins, David Thompson, Chris English, Kevin Moore and Philip Durham all found the net.

The top four sides all won without conceding a goal.

Leaders Dereham Town Reserves won 2-0 at Stalham Town as Andy Moody and Osiris Gones scored.

Loddon United won by the same score at home to Attleborough Town, with Alexander Brown and Sam Watts registering.

K&P Reserves, in third, won 3-0 at Long Stratton and fourth-placed Watton United beat Gayton United, 2-0.

Jamieson Chambers found the target for Scole United in their 1-1 draw with St Andrews.

A solitary Matthew Barbrook goal was enough for Sole Bay to claim three points at Wells Town.
