Leaders open five-point gap

The Silver Fox opened up a three goal lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 3-2 win at Poringland. Going three up before the home side got their act together, Fox held on as Poringland missed good chances to grab a point.

The Silver Fox opened up a three goal lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 3-2 win at Poringland. Going three up before the home side got their act together, Fox held on as Poringland missed good chances to grab a point. Farrow and Buckland scored for the home side. A goal by Luke Tuttle put AFC Wanderers ahead against Marlborough only for Ben Whelham to equalise for the visitors before half time. Aaron Nixon ensured three points for AFC with a second half strike. It was described as a "game of two halves" as The Grove took a 2-0 (Lloyd Greening and Craig Clarke) lead over Norman Wanderers. But the visitors hit back after the break to earn a deserved point. Quebec had a good 3-1 home win over Acle Rangers.
In 1A, Norman Wanderers Res beat Windmill Wanderers 3-1, whilst Hellesdon scored three without reply (Grady, Smith and og) at Hainford YCOB. North Walsham also had a 4-2 home win over Rose Valley Utd. Norfolk CCSC still top 1B after a narrow 3-2 victory over Manor Park. Second placed Unicorns lost ground after a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Aylsham Sunday. Earlham United came back empty handed from North Norfolk after losing 2-0 (Thurston and Cutting) at Haig FC, whilst a Matt Nudd hat trick gave Hillside OB a 3-2 win at Mattishall YCOB. Sprowston Wanderers and Prince of Denmark shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
A top of the table clash in 2A, saw Vale Longo inflict a first defeat of the season upon leaders Aslacton, where they won 2-0. Reepham town move up to third after a 7-3 win at Coachmakers Arms, whilst Green Man went down 4-2 at home to Norman Wanderers "A". There were home wins for Acle Wanderers, 3-1(Yaxley and Catchpole, 2,) against Plasterers Arms, and Spixworth Utd, 2-1 over The Griffen whilst Deopham and The Castlegate drew 1-1. Old Catton came from behind for the second week running, winning 2-1 (Whelham and Potter) at home to Ribs of Beef for whom Peter Wright scored. and Sprowston Rovers moved up to second when winning 4-1 at The Gordon. PL Rangers were delighted with their 6-1 (Rocastle (4), Bradfield and Joy) win at Acle Rangers Res, whilst Horsford SC beat Poringland Res 4-1. Gashut (2), Riches and Whale scoring for the home side. Well done to Thorpe Rovers who gained their first point of the season in a 4-4 draw with Spixworth Sunday.
In 3A, The presentation of the league's first sporting award of the season, brought no luck to Bystanders, who went down 6-3 against Mad Moose for whom James Field scored four times. The Reindeer and Newsman Celtic drew 2-2 whilst Stoke had a good 3-1 win at The Otter. A Brett Kingsbury hat trick and a goal by Colin Day, gave DCS Rapid a 4-1 win at Heartsease Casuals. 3B leaders Mischief Tavern suffered their first defeat of the season, 3-2 at Wymondham Rangers Res, whilst a solitary goal by Simon Claxton against Unicorns Res was enough to move Taverham Utd up to third. Wilco Fast Fit beat Dynamo Denmark 2-1 and Sporting Farmhouse won 3-2 at Moles Rest. Bayer FC and Hethersett Res drew 3-3 whilst AFC Rompers and Aylsham Sunday Res also drew 3-3.
Six from six in 4A for Wellington Pink Uns who beat Dancing Farmers 9-2, but Hellesdon Res stay in touch after a 5-2 win over Sporting Longdale Res. kings Arms are third after beating Norwich Airport 4-2 whilst Darren Maxey (5) Liam Doyle (4) Matt Eves (2) Josh Halliday, Carl Wakefield and Shaun Maxey all scored as Sprowston royal Oak thumped AFC Mousehold 14-0. Hockering beat Earlham Colney 3-1 and Silver Fox Res completed a good day for the club, beating Brickmakers 3-2. 4B leaders Maid Marian won 3-1 at bottom side Wendene, whilst second placed Heartsease FC beat Hethersett "A" 7-0 thanks to a Ben Lewis hat trick and further goals from Critchlow, Daynes, Perry and Whitmore. AFC Oak had a good 4-3 win over Earlham Utd Res and Freethorpe beat Constitution 5-3. Felmingham overcame Salhouse Res 3-2 and Hingham travelled back to South Norfolk with three points after winning 2-1 at Spixworth Sunday Res.
