Lowestoft Town boss Ady Gallagher hopes to turn the club's recent bout of postponements to the Blues' advantage.

AFC Fylde’s progress in the FA Trophy meant their scheduled trip to the east coast hit the buffers, leaving the Trawlerboys without a game for the second consecutive weekend following last weekend’s postponement against Worcester.

It means both sides will now have to make the long journey to Crown Meadow on a Tuesday night and Gallagher hopes his side can reap the benefit.

“It’s not ideal to have two weekends in a row without a game but it can’t really be helped,” he admitted.

“The positive is that teams are now going to have to come to Crown Meadow on a Tuesday night later in the season and they will be getting a taste of what we have to put up with on a regular basis. They can feel a bit of our pain.

“The other thing to consider is that it gives lads with knocks a proper chance for it to settle down.”

Gallagher insists he hasn’t got any serious concerns over the fact his men are enduring a mid-season mini break in National League North.

He said: “At this time of the season it’s just about players ticking over to be honest. If we were to go any longer without a game then we would have to look to factor in a game somehow but for the moment it’s not a problem.”

Gallagher is happy with the make-up of his squad and hasn’t got any immediate plans of bringing in reinforcements.

He added: “We’re always on the lookout for players that can improve the squad but I’m happy at the moment. It’s a small squad but it’s competitive. When everyone is fit we’ve got players knocking on the door waiting for their chance and long may that continue.”
