NEN League sides knocked out of Norfolk Junior Cup

For the Optic NEN League the Norfolk Junior Cup took centre stage but the teams involved did not fare so well.

Ludham live to fight another day following their 1-1 draw with Crown Fire League side Tacolneston.

Of the rest, Norwich United Res won 4-1 at Horning, Wells Res scored the only goal of the game seeing off North Walsham Old Boys, Hickling lost out 5-2 aet, after drawing 2-2 at normal time to the Albion, Hoveton napped Corpusty, as did East Harling over Runton at Woodhill.

Aldborough lost at home by the odd goal of three against Long Stratton Res, with Sheringham Res scoring seven against Briston, who replied twice.

Reigning champions Gimingham surprisingly crashed out at Shipdham by a 4-1 margin.

East Ruston probably came the closest to providing an upset when, against Anglian Combination Division Two Wortwell, they finally lost by the odd goal of five in a very close encounter.

Erpingham still head the Wayford Nurseries Division Two, albeit on goal difference, following their 2-2 draw with Holt A, this after they had thrown away a 2-0 first half lead.

Cromer Youth Old Boys are level on points at the top, thanks to a brace from Mark Warner which saw his side win 2-1 at Felmingham.

Worstead won 3-0 at home to Buxton Res and Mundesley were odd-goal winners of five at home to Aylsham A.

Blakeney continue to set the pace in the Knights Trophies Division Three.

Thanks to four goals from Toby Blowers they ran out 6-2 winners at Gimingham Res.

Glaven Valley picked up their first-ever league win by virtue of a 5-2 away success at Holt Colts.

Sutton Rangers did likewise at home to East Ruston Res 7-2.

Aldborough Res hit six without reply at Briston Res and Cawston won 2-0 away at Mundesley Res.
