Norwich Premier Security North East Norfolk League roundup: All change at the bottom

With the Slater & Frith Division One current leaders Coltishall idle and second placed Runton dropping valuable points at their nearest challengers Horning by a 2-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Tyler Reynolds and Richard Mileham, attention turned to the bottom of the table where quite a lot of movement occurred.

Worstead dropped into the bottom two when they lost 4-2 away at Gimingham when a brace from Charlie Skipper and one apiece from Ryan Beeson and Glenn Thurston saw the current champions home. A brace each from George Abbott and Aaron Moss saw Lyng move out of the bottom two away at Aldborough Green and as a result of this the Lions are now firmly rooted at the bottom of the pile.

A goal in each half from Jonny Sandell and Mark Burton gave East Ruston their first win of the calendar year over visitors Ludham for whom Scott Howe netted a late consolation effort, and the result moves them closer to safety with games in hand whilst Corpusty were 5-2 home winners over Haisboro Athletic. Mundesley look almost certain now to win the Wayford Nurseries Division Two title as they collected another three points, this time away at Buxton Reserves recording a 4-0 win but who will join them is a matter for debate, as second placed Erpingham dropped valuable points away at Aylsham, going down 2-0. Holt A, with games in hand moved within two points of them and must be a threat, after they had beat Aldborough Lions Reserves by a solitary strike.

Cromer Youth Old Boys are still in the mix, albeit with an outside chance, after they had seen off Cawston 6-1 whilst Blakeney were too strong for visitors Gimingham Reserves running out 7-0 victors with Toby Blowers netting a hat-trick and further goals coming from Mark Sadler (2), Joe Catterall and Glenn Fernee.

Felmingham halted Glaven Valley’s charge at the top of the Knights Trophies Division Three when they held the leaders to a 2-2 draw, there were away wins for Holt Colts 3-1 at Erpingham Reserves and Mundesley Reserves 5-2 at Trunch.
