Only a win will do for Yachtsmen

Title-chasing Wroxham will be looking for nothing less than a home win over Felixstowe today following their goalless draw at Woodbridge on Easter Monday.

Title-chasing Wroxham will be looking for nothing less than a home win over Felixstowe today following their goalless draw at Woodbridge on Easter Monday.

The Yachtsmen beat their visitors 6-0 away at the end of March, but they would settle for any winning scoreline to maintain their four-point cushion at the top of the Premier Division.

Damian Hilton's men have a game in hand on nearest challengers Mildenhall, who entertain Kirkley today, but the two sides meet on the final day of the season at Recreation Way, so Wroxham can't afford any slips.

Hilton will be without captain Justin Fox, who has begun another three-game suspension, while centre-back Graham Challen is injured. On the plus side, left winger Gary Gilmore has recovered from injuries and Ben Thompson returns to the attack.

Kirkley return to the scene of their biggest defeat of the season, having previously lost 8-2 at Mildenhall in the FA Cup in September.

It could be a red-letter day for Danny Stokeld who, if he gets back in time from a work trip to Kazakhstan, will make his 300th first team appearance for Kirkley, having made his debut in April 1996 at Stalham as a 15-year-old.

There are also some interesting fixtures at the foot of the Premier Division table, with Diss, King's Lynn Reserves and Norwich United battling against the drop.

Diss, second from bottom with just 30 points from 38 games, desperately need something from their trip to reigning champions Lowestoft, who will still fancy their chances of finishing third in the table despite a midweek home defeat at the hands of Dereham.

Norwich United will be aiming to take another stride to safety at home to Stanway while the Linnets could do likewise at fellow strugglers Clacton.
