CHAMPIONS Lowestoft Town signed off in style with a 6-2 win over Walsham-le-Willows, on Saturday.

This match, played in a party atmosphere, became a one-sided contest, with Marcus Saunders playing his final game for the club.

The hosts took a 10th minute lead through Hilton's powerful header from a Carl Poppy corner. They increased their advantage after 40 minutes when Jamie Godbold hit home from 12 yards after good work by Reece Hunn.

The visitors, who only had one shot in the first half, went further behind when an unmarked Richard Woodrow squeezed the ball past Lynne to make it 3-0.

McGee had two more good chances but it was Godbold who further increased the lead with a shot the keeper could not hold.

After 74 minutes a rare attack by Walsham saw a penalty awarded for a push and Andrew Cusack convert from the spot.

Godbold completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute in acres of space, before Woodrow slid in the sixth under the keeper before Walsham scored a late consolation goal by Ross.

The league trophy was presented to Lowestoft in front of a crowd of 852.
