Russell Stock will be ploughing a lone furrow up front for Lowestoft Town tomorrow, but he admitted dreams of hitting the winner take second place to lifting the Vase.

The 30-year-old target man has a well-established reputation in the region's footballing circles and, having successfully recovered from a broken hand, he cannot wait to play his part in tomorrow's final.

"It feels great," said the former Cambridge United, King's Lynn and Wroxham striker.

"Obviously five weeks ago I was a bit panicky when the x-ray came back but there was a lot of relief on Friday when the cast came off and I was able to play Saturday and Monday. Now I feel great and ready for Wembley."

Stock made his comeback in Town's 3-1 win at Harwich & Parkeston last weekend, missing a penalty but popping up with a goal from 18 yards a few minutes later.

"I think as soon as we got to the final, everyone started dreaming about what could be, people talking about hat-tricks at Wembley and goals," he added. "We want to lift the trophy and a goal for me would be an absolute dream, a boyhood dream. But there is a lot of talent in the side and we've got a lot of goals from all over the pitch.

"I'd love to get the winner but if someone else gets it and we lift the Vase and bring it back to Suffolk, well that would be magnificent."
