Ipswich Valley Rangers 1, Brandon Ladies 2

Brandon Ladies secured runners-up spot in the Suffolk Women’s League with an away win at IVR.

Brandon started the game with nine players and then to make things worse their right-back pulled up with a pulled hamstring in the opening minutes.

Credit to the team who worked extremely hard as a unit to keep things tight and still create good goal scoring chances.

Twenty minutes in, the hard work seemed to be undone as the home side were awarded and converted a penalty.

Brandon started the second half with 11 players on the pitch, started to control the game and equalised through Tash Rutter finding space to squeeze in a shot from close range.

The visitors continued to pressure the Rangers goal but struggled to create clear-cut chances until, with 10 minutes reamining, Laure Brame slotted home after a quick break by Brandon giving them the three points they needed.

Bury Town Ladies 3, Brandon Ladies 1

In a previous game, Brandon Ladies had travelled to local rivals Bury Town needing three points to be sure of runners-up spot in the Suffolk Women’s League. Brandon created good chances early on but could not finish and as the half went on the home side started to control the game in midfield, pressure the visitors’ defence and took the lead from a corner, a Bury midfielder left unmarked to head home.

Bury now had the their tails up and added two further goals before Tiff Forshaw scored a consolation goal for Brandon.

A deserved three points for a hard-working Bury side.
