Holders Wroxham booked their place in another Norfolk Senior Cup final as goals from Paul Cook and Gavin Lemmon gave Dereham another dose of knock-out misery.
The Magpies were hoping to bounce back from their weekend FA Vase exit at Needham Market by reaching their third final in four years - having won the previous two.
But the Yachtsmen had other ideas, and will line-up against King's Lynn Reserves at Carrow Road on Wednesday, April 15.
The first sight of goal came after 20 minutes when Wroxham keeper Duncan McAnally spilled Daniel Buhlemann's low 30-yard drive - but managed to grasp the rebound as Paul Atkins looked to pounce.
A well-worked five-man move then saw Atkins turn on the edge of the box to hit a powerful 22-yard drive which McAnally parried clear.
Wroxham's Gary Gilmore tried a speculative 30-yard shot which sailed wide before Cook had an effort blocked for a corner.
In the 30th minute Dereham missed a great chance when Nicky Howell broke from the halfway line and picked out the unmarked Atkins - but with goal at his mercy a poor first touch allowed McAnally to block.
The breakthrough came three minutes before the interval when defender Halliday delivered a deep cross from the right and striker Paul Cook headed home from four yards.
Lemmon increased their lead in the second half and although Adam Smith pulled one back Dereham were unable to complete the revival.
