Holt United, on the verge of a return to Anglian Combination Premier Division football, have to find a new manager. Club chairman Andy Turner explained yesterday that Jim Blandford had been forced to resign on health grounds and admitted it was “a nightmare situation”. The Owls, back in the top flight after some 30 years, kick off the season next Tuesday against Hindringham. Until a new manager is appointed, Jason Hawkins had volunteered to take the helm after the situation had been explained to the players, said Turner. Anyone interested in the job can contact Turner on 01263 712905 or club secretary Brian Owen on 01263 713914.
