The home side took the lead when Marcus Hunt scored from a penalty. Wroxham equalised when Gary Gilmore went past two defenders and shot past keeper Arron Benstead to level. The Yachtsmen's winner came three minutes into added time at the end from a free-kick out on the left by Lemmon, for a 2-1 win.

Wroxham boss Damien Hilton said: “Until Gavin Lemmon played his 'get out of jail' card in stoppage time with that free-kick from the touchline I thought we would to have to settle for a point, although deserving all three for our domination.

“Obviously, being top of the table is not significant at this early stage, but I'd rather see the team there than anywhere else.

“We have a difficult game at Kirkley on Wednesday night then we have to travel to Woodbridge for an FA Cup preliminary round game on Saturday.

“The good news is that we now have our important striker Ben Thompson available for every game.”

Lowestoft and King's Lynn Reserves shared the points in a 2-2 draw. The Blues netted first through a Richard Woodrow header. Diss Town threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Cornard. Mark Angel and Lee Norfolk had netted but then Diss keeper Michael Hilton cleared the ball straight into Chris Clark and it rebounded into the net. Ross Barton bagged a header and Adam Daniels scored the winner.

Ely beat hosts Hadleigh 1-0 with a goal by Mason, leaving them still without a win.

A hat-trick from Pask and a Catchpole goal helped Thetford Town ease to a 4-0 win over Long Melford.

Tiptree hit Downham for six without reply. New signings Tommy Noble and Luke Webster both scored in the first half. Arlick made it 3-0, English scored from the penalty spot, Ward netted then Webster scored again.

Struggling Fakenham lost 5-1 to visitors FC Clacton. Paul Hillier put the Seasiders in the lead before the Ghosts replied. Hillier added his second, then further goals from Waters, Dunkley and Sean Craven completed the scoring.
