Before last Saturday's game at Elland Road, Radio Norfolk claimed that the Norwich City Independent Supporters Association had called for the manager's head before a ball had been kicked. Not so is the answer to that.

The most recent press statement issued by NCISA was back in April with regard to the managerial set-up at Carrow Road. There is absolutely no intention to cause any further unrest, especially at the start of what must surely be the most important season of Queen Delia's reign.

Now is not the time to decide whether the glass is half full or half empty. Two games played have seen the disappearance of “hoofball” and an amazing turnaround in the form of Colin and Etuhu. Long may that continue and let us all hope that another 20 games into the season the miracle is ongoing.

NCISA has a constitution and has a democratically elected committee. As such we have a duty to speak out about what is good with regard to the current set-up at Carrow Road but also what causes the supporters to be concerned, upset and mystified. On occasions it is a “dirty old job” and may not go down well in certain quarters.

Football is all about opinions and my personal opinion may well not be everyone else's cup of tea but when thousands upon thousands of fans ask the same questions about the current state of the club finances, and are mystified why fellow Championship clubs who between them have what is equal to half the third world debt, but can still go out and spend millions on players, and just exactly what is going on with the Chris Sutton situation.

Then if NCISA asks the football club questions that need answering we do so because we care passionately. If Norwich City Football Club is in pain, NCISA hurts as well.

This season the association has continued to sponsor the position of assistant manager who as we all know is Doug Livermore. Some people especially those whose true identity is hidden on the internet have questioned NCISA's stance because we are perceived as anti the current management set-up. The bottom line is that we ferociously support the football club wherever possible.

Just one of these answers is kit sponsorship. We are more than happy to have done so since this form of revenue for the football club was developed. The politics of the individual do not enter into the equation.
