Yeovil's on-loan midfielder Shaun MacDonald is ready to inflict more misery on the Canaries in tomorrow's League One test at Carrow Road.

The Swansea playmaker scored against Paul Lambert's side in December's entertaining 3-3 draw at Huish Park.

The highly-rated Welsh U21 international has become a permanent feature for the Glovers during a season-long loan and is adamant his Yeovil stint can be a stepping stone to achieving his ultimate Premiership ambition.

"I love the town, the club and the supporters," he said. "The manager (Terry Skiverton) is great too. I have really enjoyed my time at Yeovil and the manager has just encouraged me to go out there and express myself. At the same time, I have become a more disciplined player, having now settled in a central midfield role and understanding my defensive duties.

"I know I am ready to play in the Championship but sometimes you have to be patient. That said, the sooner I play regularly in the Championship, the sooner I will be able to determine if I can make the step up to the promised land of the Premier League."

MacDonald is out of contract with the Swans in the summer and admits he may have to leave his hometown club to progress his career.

The 21-year-old has been at Swansea since he was nine but has been limited to just 35 senior appearances since making his full league debut in 2005.

MacDonald was involved in the opening month of Swansea's Championship campaign but was deemed surplus to requirements by Swansea manager Paulo Sousa, who has guided the Swans into the play-off zone.

"Swansea is my home town club but it's difficult to say I definitely want to stay when I don't know what the club is thinking," he said. "I know the Swansea manager is busy concentrating on the squad he has and pushing for promotion, but you can't help feel that you are not in future plans if it's March and you still don't know where you stand.

"Hopefully, Swansea will let me know soon. Even then, I need to play first team football and the deal needs to be right. I don't want to sign a deal that simply sends me back out on loan again, I want to feel part of someone's immediate and long term plans so I can settle down.

"It is hard living out of a suitcase and if I settle down, my football will get even better."

Yeovil's League One home game against Norwich's title rivals Leeds United will be screened live on Sky Sports. The match at Huish Park has been moved to a Bank Holiday Easter Monday slot on April 5. (12.30pm). Yeovil were hammered 4-0 at Elland Road in October.
