Title-chasing Needham Market came from behind to defeat hosts Mildenhall Town 2-1 at Recreation Way, writes Liam Apicella.

The home side took an early lead courtesy of Ryan Foster, but an own goal from Sean Hefferon and a composed finish from Daniel Thrower saw Needham Market take all three points back to Bloomfields.

Attacking down the slope, Mildenhall set out of the traps quickly, with John Sands twice unlucky when presented with half chances.

That early pressure soon paid off for Simon Charlton's men however, with Jamie Thurlbourne claiming yet another assist. The left winger sent across a teasing corner which was met by the head of Foster, who sent his header past Danny Gay.

In reply, Kevin Horlock crossed for Danny Phillips, who uncharacteristically headed straight at Mildenhall goalkeeper Josh Pope from close range.

Mildenhall didn't take much notice of that warning however, allowing Horlock to send in another great cross in the 37th minute which the unfortunate Hefferon headed past a helpless Pope.

The away side enjoyed more possession in the second half, and just four minutes in Pope was called into action to deny Craig Parker.

Pope excelled himself further just after the hour mark, somehow managing to turn away Thrower's deflected effort when he appeared to have been wrong footed initially.

Thrower was not to be denied though, and with 20 minutes remaining he struck what proved to be the winning goal. The midfielder broke free of the Mildenhall rearguard, before calmly slotting the ball past the outrushing Pope.

Mildenhall almost grabbed a late equalizer, but Gay somehow turned over Sands' looping header when all in the ground thought a goal was certain.
